Factory

The monumental panel "Factory" is a print of Anton Chumak's painting on ceramic panels measuring 320x120 cm. The panel is assembled from 200 panels and occupies an area of 642 square meters, decorating the facade of the KERAMA MARAZZI porcelain tile factory and Surface Laboratory in the village of Malino in the Moscow region.
The plot of the panel "Factory" depicts the production process, namely the transformation of natural materials into porcelain tile. The image is the author's interpretation of the technological processes of this production, mechanisms and equipment. When viewing the composition from left to right, you can see the sequential movement of the original material, clay and sand, through giant mills, atomizers, presses and furnaces to the finished product warehouse.
The objective of the "Factory" project was to connect the external appearance of the plant with its internal content. The artist's painting conveys the spirit of modern high-tech production and immediately demonstrates to the viewer the final result of the work, anticipating a further journey through the production workshops.

"In my childhood, the factory seemed to me to be some kind of magical and sacred place. When you come and first see piles and mountains of sand and clay, this resembles a certain chaos. During production, this entire mass is transformed into structured pallets with even, precisely calculated slabs that are sent to construction sites all over the country. And I was very interested in visualizing and interpreting this process in order to reveal to the viewer what is happening behind the walls of the workshops,"— says the author of the work, Anton Chumak.
